“If you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with him… the people who give you their food give you their heart. ” ~Cesar Chavez

Imagine if you are away from home in another country, say for example Amsterdam, and you tell someone you probably had one of the best dining experiences of your life. One might assume, that you dined at a Michelin five-star restaurant. Then you tell them, this was even better!
This was our second time having the pleasure of dining with Martine and Olav at their home. It is a unique experience by any standard, they are former chefs who decided to organize dining experiences in their home. You can read more about it on this link https://www.martines-table.com.
Three years ago we had the pleasure, due to Skip’s search, to have a dining experience with a group of our friends/fellow travelers and it was one of the highlights, if not the highlight, of the trip.
After two years of COVID lockdown, we were blessed once again to dine with them and a few of our friends last evening. To say it did not disappoint would be an understatement. The company, the wine, the food, the conversation was as my daughter Becca would say “chefs kiss.”
I did not take many photos as I chose to live in the moment and savor the flavors of the food, wine and company.

Thank you to Marine and Olav for another “most memorable evening” in the books. Everything was incredible. You are both extraordinary hosts in every sense of the word. The pear tart, the food, and the company was truly the best. Thank you.

“Eating is not merely a material pleasure. Eating well gives a spectacular joy to life and contributes immensely to goodwill and happy companionship. It is of great importance to the morale.”
