“You may have the universe if I may have Italy.” ~ Giuseppe Verdi
Today was probably my most anticipated day of the trip. I have enjoyed more than I can put into words or pictures the entire trip, the places, the people, the food, the sights, the scheduled and the unscheduled. It has been an adventure in the best of ways.
Today our travels took us on a lovely tour of the Amalfi Coast. Our first stop was the Emerald Grotto. It was named “Emerald” for the incredible colors that filter from an underground opening and fill the cave with intense nuances of green. The inside of the cavern has stalagmites, stalactites and strange “work of arts” created by time and nature. You board a small flat boat and a man rows around explaining what you are seeing in Italian and English. Coincidentally, it is located right across from a gift shop! #winning!
We took a leisurely drive over the mountains and through the hills along the beautiful and picturesque Amalfi coastline with stops in the Town of Amalfi, the Town of Ravello and the City of Sorrento. We made a few stops along the way to take some pictures and a little sight-seeing.
Of course there were some sights that should not have been seen!
There were other sights that were so beautiful!
I do think my third wish from the Trevi fountain did come true!!
Of course the other driver Miguele was not hard on the eyes!
The drivers stopped along the way to show us walnuts on the roadside, and risk their lives on the winding roads!
Our last picture stop was the same place our driver Francesco Marrapese had taken our family photo ten years before.

“Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You’ll find what you need to furnish it – memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey.” ~ Tad Williams
