“Travel becomes a strategy for accumulating photographs”. ~Susan Sontag

Today was another rainy day. Longfellow must have enjoyed the rain more than I do because I found another quote about the rain that is his.

“Into each life some rain must fall.”

~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I personally have had enough rain events but since there is nothing I can do to change it one must go with the flow.   This morning we were in Wurzburg and toured the “Residenz.”  It is a world heritage site and one of the most visited attractions in Germany.  There are however, no photographs allowed to be taken inside of the building.  Since at the current time I refuse to upload pictures of the rooms from the internet to post you will have to just imagine it’s opulence and splendor.  It had been destroyed in the war and rebuilt and it is just breathtakingly magnificent.   We did not spend much time outside due to the weather.
In the afternoon we opted out of the optional tour of Rothenberg and sailed and had a lazy afternoon.  From our cabin window the hills and fields and beauty of the countryside captured my attention, and I attempted to capture it on “film.”

After a peaceful afternoon, and another delicious dinner we walked through the town to a wine tasting in Kitzingen guided by the Aulic Council and Wine Queens.

It was an interesting demonstration at “Alter Kitzinger Klosterkeller,” one of the oldest wine-cellars in Germany.  It was enjoyable and relaxing and the speaker had many enchanting facts and poems.  I could not find hers online but this one seems to fit the bill.

Roses are red, and so is my wine.
Refill my glass and I’ll be just fine.

“Close friends contribute to our personal growth. They also contribute to our personal pleasure, making the music sound sweeter, the wine taste richer, the laughter ring louder because they are there.”
