“The best thing one can do when it’s raining is to let it rain.” ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
My dad is fond of riddles and one he repeats often when it is raining is “what do they do in China when it rains?” The answer is “They let it rain.”
Since there is not much else one can do about it that’s what we did today. It rained and yet it was still a lovely day. We cruised along the Main River during the morning.
Then we were both educated and entertained by a glass blower demonstration in the lounge that was just wonderful.
In the afternoon we arrived in the town of Wertheim where we opted out of the city walking tour and the Culinary Tour/Bretzel demonstration to walk around the town by ourselves.
“Not all those who wander are lost.”
~ R. R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
It felt at moments that we were lost in our search of the glassblowers shop as we ended up traveling steep wet paths to Wertheim Castle, while the shop was right in the center of town!
We managed to fit in a wee bit of shopping and then returned to the ship for a rainy but picturesque sail and then off to another delicious dinner with good food, good wine and most importantly, good company.
“Only a select few are able to see the true beauty that lies behind what just might seem like a rainy day or a grey sky.”
